Linda Renfro – Vocalist

Linda began singing in high school with a female vocal trio that eventually performed on television, radio, and the Republican National Convention. Her vocal and acting talents landed her numerous roles in community theatre as well as television commercials.

Linda co-founded the bands Cheshire, Vision, and Good News which recorded original material and performed several years throughout the country at hotels, weddings, debutant balls, concerts, conventions, and radio show promotions.

In concert, she has opened for Lou Rawls, The Fifth Dimension, Jack Jones, B.J. Thomas, Chuck Berry, It’s a Beautiful Day, Carol Lawrence, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Chuck Barry.  She has also performed at such special events as The Great Gatsby Parties, Homebuilders of America, the Military Ball, radio station KAAM’s parties, the Texas Tycoon Gala, Fort Worth’s Concerts In The Gardens, conventions, the St. Jude's Charity Ball along with many fund-raising events.

After singing with the UNT Jazz Singers and studying privately with Rosanna Eckert at UNT and Julie Bonk.  Linda produced her CD My Heart's Desire, consisting of some of her favorite standards.

For the past several years on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, she sings the national anthem at the DFW National Cemetery.  She also sings the national anthem at the Veterans Day parade in downtown Dallas and at the Dallas Military Ball.  As these functions are attended by high-ranking military and political figures, Linda's voice has reached the ears of and touched the hearts of Texas governor Rick Perry, Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Congressman Kenny Marchant, and former Congressman Martin Frost.

Linda’s adaptability to musical styles is evident in her experience singing Big Band, Top 40, contemporary Christian, and jazz, both as a soloist and with vocal groups.

Currently, Linda performs in a variety of venues, including the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Curtis Wilson and the TCU Jazz Orchestra, The Glen Dorsey Orchestra, the Christian orchestra “Joshua”, other bands in the Dallas area, as well as her own duo, and jazz quartet.

Linda has been invited to sing with the jazz vocal ensemble The New Collection.  See The New Collection's website  www.thenewcollection.com to view their upcoming performance schedule.

Linda currently teaches voice and piano privately at her home in the Lewisville, TX area.

Linda and the Joshua Experience will be featured at many of the high profile venues in London during the 2012 Olympics!
